Recently we toured Peggy Jennings warehouse in St. Pete Florida. Peggy Jennings and her friend Mary Maloof, used to have a line called "Lion's Paw". Jennings designed for many well known brands such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. She also designed for Laura Bush (The First Lady of George W. Bush).
When we arrived to Peggy Jennings warehouse, our tour guide took showed us a room with computers that could make patterns and print them using this machine.
They design for many costumers and can custom make garments all on the computer (they don't sew on the computer of course). They make all the patterns and size them down to scale in order to work with them on the screen. Then they print out the pattern in actual size using the pattern making machine. This machine makes it really easy to specifically size a garment for a specific client.

Then we went to the cutting room where people cut the fabric
according to the pattern. They have many imported fabrics from Italy, Germany, and Sweden. They need to make sure that there are no flaws in the fabric, and that the pattern lines up before they cut.

We got to feel lamb leather (which was very soft). But Khoury didn't like to much because her favorite animal is a lamb.

Next we saw the sewing room. Peggy Jennings is one of few companies that still has people sewing the clothes. Many companies use machines, while Peggy Jennings has a room full seamstresses who use sewing machines to make the garments. They each have their specialties, but most of them can sew pretty much anything!
